THESE images show the damage caused to a home in Ashurst Wood after the roof was engulfed in flames this afternoon.
The detached house in Cansiron Lane - Hollys Cottage - has been left with a gaping hole in the roof. All persons were accounted for, according to West Sussex Fire & Rescue.
The fire broke out at about 4.30pm and two fire engines were intially sent following reports that the roof was well alight.
A further four appliances were dispatched after the incident commander escalated...
