SUSSEX Police has rejected claims it has allowed protesters to bring oil-drilling at Balcombe to a halt as up to 1,000 extra people have gathered for a climate camp near the site at the weekend.
Energy firm Cuadrilla is looking for oil near Balcombe but has not ruled out using fracking to extract shale gas.
Cuadrilla has scaled back its test drilling this weekend during the camp.
